Bug2025011021 Channel import data compatibility failure

It is personal opinion that functionality added without documentation nor quality assurance test, is a bug. Please ignore this post if disagreed.

A channel export file created in 2024, is not compatible with subsequent hubzilla versions; dialogue window text:

I haven't tried this yet (and thus haven't been able to replicate), but is it possible that channel export files from version 9.x or earlier hubs are no longer compatible with version 10.x?

This is why programmers should not introduce new bugs that affect superior functionality of hubzilla (in this example, nomadic identity via channel export), without robust quality assurance tests.

@od You are anticipating an answer from @Mario Vavti here without knowing whether the error really exists or whether you are making the error during import or whether your hub is possibly configured incorrectly. Why don't you wait and see what he has to say first, i.e. whether the incompatibility really exists or not.

That is very rude and dubious.

You are explicitly and deliberately spreading misinformation and rumours about Hubzilla (which also explains why you label every question, every comprehension problem and every feature request as a ‘BUG’). You don't want help, you don't want information. You are not interested in actual bugs being fixed. It's just about making the project and those involved in it look bad through negative propaganda.

You can have that bad opinion of Hubzilla. I'm a supporter of free speech, even if I don't like the opinion. But the fact that you are abusing a SUPPORT forum run by the Hubzilla Association for this purpose is outrageous and - this is my personal opinion, which nobody has to share - I believe that this should be stopped in this forum. That would still not be a kind of ‘censorship’, because you can continue to pour your reck over Hubzilla. On your own website, any Fediverse channel or any other social network... or you can buy an advert in the daily newspaper and have it printed there.
