#AI / #LLM good or bad?

This same discussion is raging across the entire planet. Yet the 'yes I like it / no I hate it' back & forth isn't very interesting and fruitful. Turning thoughful debate into heated shouting matches.

Instead ponder the technology as-is. Adopt a more strategical, but also philosophical and psychological viewpoint, shift perspective. We need calm environments to analyse what all this means for our #future. Deal with utterly disruptive technology that is *already* dumped right in the midst of us. Much more to come.

Solution orientation is needed to tackle this huge #challenge. I consider LLM's inhumane tech, immoral and unethically introduced. Corporate capture of all human knowledge for pure commercial gain. Greed, vanity, power of the #EpsteinClass. Enormous resource use. Looming AI #dystopia. Hallmarks of #hypercapitalism.

What risks does #humanity face? How can we protect our #freedom? Can we tackle wicked problems?

Personally, I take a pragmatic view of LLMs. They can be very useful if you start with your own hypothesis. LLMs can then verify, expand upon, or challenge that hypothesis. Problems arise when you ask them what you should think (or do)—when, so to speak, you use AI as a ghostwriter.

LLMs should be viewed as tools, not shortcuts. Creative solutions emerge when you treat LLMs as sparring partners. Working in a team with a chatbot, people could also use AI as a kind of intern or colleague.
