Wild guess, but I think it is because the post itself is posted by the forum, not by you. The same way you don't get any notifications of my reshares of your posts. (Old style reshares, not repeats.)

Yeah, you will be notified if mentioned, but afaik not for comments that don't mention you. Not sure how that works for comments to your comment again, though...
