Stream only shows own posts or where mentioned

Hi there,

what magic did I with my last two channels I have set up? I follow some people but only see posts which I have started or where I have been mentioned in each stream.

One is a community forum (was set up some weeks ago), the other was a forum in the beginning but have switched to Public yesterday.

All my other channels work just fine.

You write that these are current (or former) channels of the ‘Community Forum’ type. This behaviour is quite normal. The stream only consists of wall postings in the channel. The normal postings from connections of the channel do not appear in the stream, but only what has been posted in the forum channel itself (and replies to them, of course).

Like @RockyIII is mentioning, it has something to do with with Channel Roles, as it seems, but with a weird twist. :-) I started both channels as "community forum", the posts from the connected accounts won't appear. When changing to e. g. Public, the setting that all posts will appear is set, but it doesn't work. What helps is setting up a new channel role and set "posts from your connections will appear on your stream" (don't know the exact english term), all new posts from my connections immediately appear. With all my other channels I am still on "standard channel role" and all is fine with them.

Yes, this is apparently a small(!) bug. If you switch from a forum to a general channel role, then (I don't know if all) settings remain with the forum role scheme.

What it boils down to is that if the channel had a more restrictive role, you need to give it the ‘custom’ one and allow ‘Can send me their channel stream and posts' ('Kann mir die Beiträge aus seinem Kanal schicken').

I'll write something about this in the KnowledgeDB.
