I've installed the Invite app but my invitations are not being received.

Direct registration works fine; users receive their email verification codes no problem. However, I had to install sendmail on my VPS before that functionality would work. I'm guessing the Invite app doesn't automatically use sendmail and I don't see any clear way to get it to configure it.

Has anyone else had to debug their Invite app?

@Hubzilla Support Forum I haven't encountered any problems. I just tried again (sent an invitation to one of my many email addresses).
However, for my second hub, I had to activate the ‘phpmailer’ add-on so that the invitation emails would be sent. Please try that.

I've installed phpmailer but the results are the same. I'll remove it for now just to keep the variables down.

It appears that Zotlabs/Module/Invite.php uses a deprecated mailing function (z_mail) as opposed to "class Mailer" in Zotlabs/Lib/Mailer.php

I'll keep digging.

Found the issue.

I commented out 'fromName' and 'fromEmail' from /hubzilla/Zotlabs/Module/Invite.php and now it works. For some reason it was entering my personal email rather than noreply@rocktalk.live for the message, which was causing it to be rejected by my email forwarding service. It works for now.
